Government of Pakistan; Biobank Inventory Management System for NVL, NIH and NARC Reference Labs

Client: DAI/Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan

Start Date : Jan 2022 Finsih Date: Nov 2022

Project Description:

SysReforms has pioneered Pakistan's inaugural automated laboratory management system, designed to effectively store and oversee bacterial isolate data for potential future research and developmental endeavours. It is a highly secure and complex data base providing complete visibility of storage and other details of samples. SysReforms International, in collaboration with Fleming Fund Country Grant, National Institute of Health (NIH), National Veterinary Lab, and National Reference Lab for Poultry diseases, has spearheaded a crucial initiative—the development of the Biorepository Inventory Management System (BIMS). This endeavour addresses a significant need within the Federal Laboratories of Pakistan, providing a modern solution for storing and managing laboratory data effectively. Traditionally, the laboratories have relied on paper-based methods to manage their data, resulting in cumbersome and labor-intensive processes. To bridge this gap, the Fleming Fund Country Grant Pakistan initiated the development of BIMS, catering to three National Reference labs: NIH, National Veterinary Laboratory (NVL), and National Reference Laboratory for Poultry Diseases (NRLPD). The Biorepository Inventory Management System is a cloud-based application offering a range of capabilities. It enables Biobanks to store, track, and manage laboratory data in a structured manner, facilitating efficient data management processes. Lab workers can configure storage equipment with various specifications, layouts, capacities, and hierarchical sub-divisions. Additionally, the system features a robust search and report generation engine, empowering users to perform essential ad-hoc queries and maintain up-to-date inventory lists with ease.
